Email supportFrequently asked questions
How do the 50 free photos work?
One free place is used when you first make and successfully save a Keep, app-local Favorite, or pending Delete decision on a different still photo. It is not a count of deletions, swipes, or storage saved. Previewing a photo does not count.
The allowance accumulates across months and review sessions, with no time limit and no automatic charge. Undo does not return a free place, but deciding on the same tried photo again does not use another one.
What happens after I use the 50 photos?
Reviewing additional new photos requires the optional one-time purchase. You can still inspect your existing selected deletions, return an item to Keep, cancel without changing Photos, or complete the confirmation steps for that selection for free. You are not required to pay to safely finish it.
Is PhotoTend Unlimited a subscription?
No. One purchase unlocks unlimited use of PhotoTend's core still-photo review features without a time limit. There is no subscription or advertising. The App Store shows the actual price before you confirm a purchase. No PhotoTend account is required; Apple handles the purchase with your Apple Account.
How do I restore a purchase?
Use the same Apple Account that originally purchased PhotoTend Unlimited. Open the menu in Your Library or the unlock screen and choose Restore Purchases. Restoring a valid purchase does not require buying it again. Connecting to Apple's services may be necessary.
If restoration fails or is unavailable, retry when connected and check the purchasing Apple Account before paying again. Contact support@phototend.com for help. See Apple's purchase-restoration guidance.
Does restoring a purchase restore my review progress?
No. Purchase access and review progress are separate. Review decisions, app-local favorites, progress and free-use records stay on the current iPhone; PhotoTend does not sync them between devices. The free allowance survives normal restarts and updates, but may reset after reinstalling the app, losing local data, or changing devices.
How can I request a refund?
For a purchase billed through Apple, use Apple's refund-request page. Eligibility varies by country or region, and Apple reviews the request. PhotoTend does not promise approval or impose a rule that using the app automatically makes a purchase non-refundable. See Apple's refund guidance.
Requesting a refund is not the same as an approved refund or revoked access. If Apple revokes the purchase and the app verifies that change, unlimited access for new photos ends. This does not undo completed photo-library changes, erase your local decisions, or prevent the safe completion of an existing selected-deletion queue.
Why does PhotoTend need Photos access?
PhotoTend needs read and write access to show the still photos you approve, group them by month, and ask Apple Photos to move only your confirmed selections to Recently Deleted. The permission request appears only after the in-app explanation.
Can I use Limited Photo Access?
Yes. If you select Limited Access in Apple's permission sheet, PhotoTend works only with the photos you choose. You can manage the selected set later through the app or iOS Settings.
Does swiping left immediately delete a photo?
No. A left swipe only adds the photo to a pending review list. You can inspect the full list and move any item back to Keep before PhotoTend asks you to confirm. Apple then presents a separate system confirmation.
Can I recover a photo after approval?
Approved items use Apple's Recently Deleted workflow and can normally be recovered in Apple Photos for 30 days. PhotoTend does not permanently erase items outside that workflow.
What happens when iCloud Photos is enabled?
Apple may synchronize approved photo-library changes to other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. If a full-resolution photo is stored in iCloud, PhotoTend identifies that state and lets you start the Apple-managed download.
Are photos uploaded to PhotoTend? Does the app work offline?
Your photo library is not uploaded to PhotoTend. Version 1.0 has no developer backend, account system, photo-upload service, advertising network, or third-party analytics SDK. Review state and the free-use ledger remain on your iPhone.
On-device review does not mean every operation is offline. Apple handles product prices, purchases, purchase verification and restore; Apple's Photos framework may retrieve a photo stored in iCloud. These services may need a connection. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Does PhotoTend review videos?
No. The MVP review flow includes still photos only.
